My Approach
Being strong and healthy is one of the greatest feelings in life, and I have devoted mine to helping people achieve that. Tonya Herrick Pilates allows clients to enjoy the full spectrum of fitness options available today. By combining Pilates with other core and stabilization exercises, such as suspension training and kettelbells, clients experience interesting, challenging and hugely beneficial workouts.
Pilates exercises promote an even musculature throughout the body by strengthening the core and improving flexibility.
These principles are some of the same principles used in the rehabilitation of many common orthopedic problems.
In fact, professional athletes have started performing Pilates regularly to help develop their core strength and flexibility, prevent injuries, and enhance performance.
Since 2002, I have specialized in working with clients with injuries, such as: scoliosis, bulging discs, sciatica, post rehab back surgery, hip replacement, fusions, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, joint problems, and osteoporosis. While in some cases these issues cannot be cured, the negative impact to one’s life can be severely limited or removed completely, and exercise can be enjoyable again!
I have the following certifications:
- Pilates certified through Balanced Body Pilates and Physical Mind Institute (mat).
- 200-hour certified Yoga teacher.
- I’m also ACE Personal Trainer certified, strength training with core emphasis is another service available to clients.
Modern life is becoming increasingly complex, the time you devote to strengthening yourself physically and mentally is time well spent.
I look forward to working with you at Tonya Herrick Pilates, you’ll be truly proud of what you achieve.
